Ralegh’s Cross Inn Access Statement
For assistance prior to arrival please contact reception on 01984 640343. We are situated 14 miles North west of Taunton on the B2023. Taxis can be arranged from Taunton Railway Station which is mainline, with direct connections to most major towns and cities. We are not on a bus route.
The Inn has plentiful parking. Residents can pre-arrange to have a parking space reserved for them close to the main accommodation entrance.
The car park is level and has a tarmac surface.
There are no steps at the front of the hotel.
Assistance is provided wherever possible with parking and luggage.
The reception area is level with access to the bar/ restaurant and the stairs to the guest floor in the main building.
The reception desk is located to your right as you enter through them main door.
There are a number of seating areas in the front hall.
We can provide a magnifying glass and easy to hold pens if required.
The bar/restaurant is located along the short corridor beside reception.
There are no steps to the restaurant / bar.
The floor in the front hall is entirely carpeted.
Familiarisation tours can be provided if required.
There is a phone on the reception desk that guests can use.
The hotel is only two storeys floors high.
There are separate toilet facilities provided for ladies and gents both with tiles marble floors.
Access to the toilets is level and entered from the bar.
We have a disabled toilet in our function room which is accessed either internally via four steps or externally with no steps.
There is colour contrast with critical surfaces, tiles are coloured and the sanitary ware is white.
The bar can be accessed from reception along a corridor or through the external main entrance to the inn. It has a level entry with no steps and has tiled slate flooring and carpets.
Table service is available.
The tables are all of equal height.
Lighting is a combination of natural and electric light
The restaurant section is fully carpeted and continues around to the right side of the bar
We cater for all special dietary needs.
Staff will provide full explanations of every dish when ordering and will explain the dish when presented at the table.
Function / Conference Room
This has level access from the outside with fully carpeted floor.
There is a conservatory with external access involving a small drop in height (three inches)
The room can be accessed through double doors and has a disabled toilet.
Lighting is even but can be varied using dimmer switches.
Please notify conference organizers in advance if you will require any additional services e.g. special seating arrangements.
We have 17 bedrooms, 11 of which are situated on the first floor of the main building and 6 are in an annexe building adjacent to the main building.
Access to the first floor rooms involves 14 internal stairs whereas the annexe rooms are all level ground floor access.
Each room has a telephone and a smoke alarm.
Bedrooms vary in size and some will be more suited to a wheelchair than others. Please enquire at the time of booking.
Emergency procedures are posted on the door to each bedroom and are explained upon check in for any disabled guests.
Every bedroom has television and radio with remote control.
Flooring in all bedrooms is carpeting.
Bedroom lighting can be switched on at the entrance to the room.
There are bedside lights.
There is a direct dial telephone in every bedroom.
All rooms are non-smoking in compliance with current legislation.
Dogs are permitted in our ground floor annexe rooms.
A magnifying glass can be provided on request.
All bathrooms are fitted with carpets.
All baths have grips attached.
All sanitary ware is white.
There are three outside seating areas, all of which are on the level with no steps associated with access. Standard construction wooden tables are available with bench style seating.
